A welcoming lounge and large conservatory area offers a comfortable, family feel.

The outside area is a beautiful courtyard, with flower pots, tables and chairs and tranquillity for the residents to relax and enjoy.

Customer Reviews

  • Testimonial
To all the wonderful staff at Balgowan, we are so grateful that you accepted Dad into your loving home, we know that he had very complex needs and required a lot of time and patience to care for him, and for that we thank you. Dad loved each and every one of you, and you showed him such kindness and love. We are so pleased that Dad spent his last few months at Balgowan.

  • I have never heard a bad word about your facility
I want to thank you most gratefully for all the kindnesses you have shown to me, and my recently passed-on mother. I know that she received very good care there, and she was most happy. I have never heard a bad word about your facility, or the, staff. You hear so many horror stories about some nursing homes but I never had to worry about mum, she was happy there from the beginning, as was I. I was more worried about her living on her own, before she went to Balgowan House. I liked the fact that she would not only be getting skilled nursing care, but someone to make sure she took whatever medications that she was supposed to take.

  • Exemplary care, compassion and understanding
To Ann-Marie and all the staff at Balgowan House,

It's hard to believe that S first came to Balgowan for Respite Care at the end of 2015 and it became her home from March 2017. Although there have been lumps and bumps (literally) along the way, you and your care and nursing staff and also the domestic staff have always shown exemplary care, compassion and understanding towards S and treated her with respect and maintained her dignity throughout some very tough times which have been exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic.

S bravely fought a long hard battle for which we all knew there could ultimately only be one end result and without ever complaining, sadly on February 5th she lost her fight but which we all believe was a happy release and has now allowed her to rest peacefully at last.

On behalf of myself and Daniel and all our family, I want to thank every one of you for all that you did for S and me, and congratulate you on your successful endeavours to keep Covid-19 our of Balgowan House which is no mean feat in itself and we wish all of you and the home continued success in the future.

  • Kindness, care and professionalism
Many thanks for 'being there' for Mum and me when we needed you. Your kindness, care and professionalism bought me great peace of mind and I'm sure made Mum's last few weeks as comfortable and peaceful as possible. Thanks again from the bottom of my heart.

Thank you and your team for all you have done and are doing for our mother. We well appreciate that strange thourgh 'Stay Home' is for all of us; for you and staff it has a whole different meaning.

Not being able to come and see her is of course frustrating for us; upsefting and sometimes confusing for her: however, knowing that she is in absolutely the best place and lovingly cared for is an enormous comfort. We do appreciate that enormously, so: a BIG THANK YOU to all of you. We also recognise that these are very taxing times for you and your team with additional work, additional decision making and additional pressures. We just wanted you to know that you have our full support for all you have done and all you will have to do; whether for Mother or more generally within Balgowan. This is not going to be over any time soon and neither the workload nor the decisionJare likely to get any easier for quite a while.

  • Care and kindness
I would just like to thank you all so much for all the care and kindness you gave to my friend J over the past six months.Giving up one's independence is never easy but you might like to know that a couple of months ago he said to me that he was being very well looked after and he was content with being with you.

As a visitor I have been very impressed with the all round high standards and the warm atmosphere that always prevailed.

So thank you again for all that all of you have done for him.
